International photografy festival in Kristiansund N

From 26 August to 2 September 2006, a new and exiting international photography festival will take place in the cultural town of Kristiansund N. The artistic leader of the festival is Morten Krogvold, a prominent Norwegian photographer.

The Nordic Light program includes the names of 25 renowned photographers and cultural personalities all of whom you will have an opportunity to meet through interesting exhibitions, exiting lectures or motivating mentor meetings.

At the festival, the participants will have the opportunity to be inspired by personalities, such as:

- James Nachtwey - a photographer who for years has used his photographic skills to document the cruelty of war, conflicts and social inequality.

- Erik Poppe - a press photographer who became a film photographer and director.

- Ole Gunnar Solskjær - a Manchester United football player who will appear  in Morton Krogvold’s “Ansikt til Ansikt” (“Face to Face“).

- Pedro Mayer - one of the pioneers of Mexican photography. Pedro Mayer has taught at workshops and has given hundreds of lectures about different photography topics at museums and academic institutions across the world.

- Alex Webb - whose pictures have appeared in New York Times Magazine, Life, Geo, Stern and National Geographic.
